"You don't own it. You merely take care of it for the next generation."
Another Solvil et Titus.
I don't know why myself, but I like the advertisement videos they produced. The videos have been trying to convey a message about nostalgia, which is the main point of the concept being 'Time is Love', and that somehow sounds interesting to me. Moreover, I find the composition and tone used in the poster intriguing whenever I observe them. The year I put there indicates when the poster, which is used as a reference to this drawing, was published. Not when this was drawn. Too bad, I don't know who the model is.
On the other note, unfortunately as I searched more videos only to find the recent new videos had been directed by different person, being wholly different compared to the first ones I watched. I prefer the previous works, if I say so.
Solvil et Titus was once a swiss-based watch company, though due to various business related reasons, it then became Hong-Kong-based. The company was founded by Paul Ditisheim in 1887 in Switzerland and developed by Paul bernard Vogel. I don't know if the title is a language or not, but I feel it may also mean 'Time is Love'.
The shading was done on one layer, since it's bothersome to have multiple layers which consumes most of my main drive. It tends to pop a message telling me there's no spaces enough for a simple command such as brushing, creating a new layer, or flipping an image. Probably I will have to tidy the drive, especially the assignment files. They are surprisingly what takes up the most storage of my drive. Anyway, shading in black and white is somewhat a little easier than shading in colours. Even so, determining the value to get the form still stands as the most difficult part of shading's progression.
Thus, I see that I still vehemently need more practices.
I used a standard brush in photoshop, by the way, in case you're wondering.
Oh, and I didn't trace the original reference. I drew this from total scratch.
