Merry christmas to whoever may read this post~

The picture was drawn with no ruler, as I wanted to improve my analytical drawing skill. Though, it seems I still need more practice on analytical drawing skill. Moreover, the perspective of things there seems a bit off to my eyes.

Perspective isn't to be taken lightly, I assume. Since it's about 3D illusion, so it may fool eyes at times. Ugh, I need to improve this one before proceeding towards coloring or digital drawing. Angles will a lot be practiced from onwards then, so I will be able to adjust preposition freely.

I often got really frustrated due to this perspective and angle, well, I just have to practice more. That's all.

Not only this matter, another matter also needs to be considered and that's scale. The scale of things are obviously different one another. A key that's bigger than a computer is senseless, but a key that's smaller than a bug is also senseless as well.

Balance seems to be everything, uh.

Perhaps using rulers will make things become easier, but I want to be able to draw neatly without ruler so that's why I decided to draw without ruler.

Ruler will be used only when I want to draw a straight line for specific purpose.

Despite all problems I've encountered, I still like drawing. I love every single line I draw.

Because, it was like I was in..... another world.

17th December

This looks like a cover page of book or something. Though, the quality of this drawing is still not much closer to what I want.

The reason why I drew these girls wearing swimsuit was because of my whim, so don't mind what kind of drawing I may draw later.

The fish there is one of kind of trouts, I think. The shape is the only thing I ever know about fish, but I'm sure I've ever seen this kind of fish somewhere. I tried to use google, and found this link http://www.hi-ho.ne.jp/amago/papercraft/papercraft2.html. And then I decided to use the image as a kind of reference although I still have no idea about the shape of fish I talked before.

Somewhere within a river of mountain, I suppose.

As I'm not sure about general sense of fashion, I dare to ask my mom. When I asked my mom about the fashion of swimsuit, she said the right girl's swimsuit looks like it's from Bali.

I already ran out of words to describe further, so I may just let this picture say itself....

14th December

It seems I normally draw very seriously rather than draw carelessly, since I gave a high attention to position, portion, and volume of each body parts. No wonder they take time to finish when I become serious. If it comes to coloring, I'm unsure how many hours I will spend to finish.

Though, this drawing is.... well, honestly, my feeling says I still want to draw better than this somewhat. I will just have to wait till the day.

I wanted to draw two girls wearing negligee so yeah, but they somehow don't indicate the theme. My training is still not enough.

8th December

The theme of this month is Christmas so I made this. Though this has no colors as I always messed up the Photoshop by making lots of mistakes and errors. I actually wanted to write 'Merry Christmas' on the board, but it was too small to write on so I used 'Merry Xmas' instead. My apologies.

It seems there is still 17 days before Christmas day. I think I uploaded this too fast, but I had nothing to do so yeah.....

5th December

 Asuzagawa Tsukino, from Yakitate! Japan. If you're wondering why her hair is tied, you probably need to read the manga till the end. I like her personality despite she lacks chances of appearing in scenes, so I drew her. Not only that, I also like how the hair is drawn by the artist.

2nd December

I, of course, noticed there are some supporting me until now. Though, I forgot to thank you so please let me use this chance to say thank you.

Although without knowing about existing supports, I still keep drawing, but knowing there are supports such as likes makes my urge to draw become even bigger.

I will always do my best by studying and practicing. I really look forward to be able to draw a colored illustration about a cute girl within a beautiful scenery.

29th November

I made a rough sketch within approximately 20 minutes, which means each pose takes up to 10 minutes. Afterwards, I gave a smooth pencil outline and shading techniques.

I'm beginning to like shading techniques as it gives a form of things and characters. Though, of course, I'm still stuck to anime style.

I'm not sure about a general sense of fashion, but I did give it a try by reading fashion magazines or googling. The images I found there was used as a reference, of course.

Err... Nothing to say again, except saying that I have to keep studying and practice on drawing.

27th november

I'm trying to add shading technique to get a desired impact. Though, it seems it still need more works for something 'intense' and 'mature' atmosphere. Well, I still have a lot of time to improve myself, so I won't have to be worrying all time.

The blindfold shows that the girl is blind, of course. She has a long history as a member of certain famous group until she was expired of the status due to the incident, and holds one of positions that takes responsibility for the caused incident in [Extoria].

Although she is blind ever since she was born, she already reached at a level where she can tame a dragon.

26th November

Positions of folds of clothes are really hard to determine unless I need some practice based on references more. Plus, I think I still need a lot of practice on making preposition and proportional of body.

I made this drawing on my whim, so don't mind what I did.

25th November

I'm at my home, finally, though it was few days ago. Plus, the printer here gives a much clearer result scan, doesn't it ? Seems to be different than what I used for scanning previously. Now, I'm doubting which kind of printer I should use.

They are high-school girls who just graduated happily.

Sorry if I've not been updating for a long period of time, since I have been playing games with my older brother here. But I still spare my time to practice on drawing, of course.

On another note, due to some technical problems I got here, I need some times to adjust my tablet.

19th November

This is the newest one I made.

Christmas is still far, but I unintentionally made this so yeah.

I'm experimenting with color pencils. It still needs more works though.

Not to mention there were some mistakes I did by accident. >.< It's not like I can type ctrl + z on traditional art. But they will be my experience for future reference.

18th November

I updated this blog pretty fast, didn't I ? Since there is a pile of drawings on my table here, so I can keep updating forever whenever I get a chance. Heh heh.

Anyway, this is one of old drawings which were made a month ago.

On another note, these characters are from Reisei. A doujinshi Light Novel. I'd not explain the novel further unless you ask me. The left is Nakamura Rei, while the right is Akimoto Kazuma.

I still need more practice......

18th November

This drawing actually was made about a month ago. During that time, I got no time to scan and upload this due to University's assignments.

Now that I have a lot of free time, so I decided to scan this with some little recent reparations.

I have a lot of drawings here to show, it's just I need time to finish them all (Since they all are rough sketches). @_@

17th November

If my sense of timing wasn't wrong, I made the rough sketch out of this within approximately 10-15 minutes. That's probably because of this simple pose. Though, I think drawing digitally will kind of be longer than that because I'm not used yet.

Furthermore, I don't know how long it takes when it comes to make a pencil outline out of the rough sketch.

By the way, this character is Kaga, from Kantai Collection. I like an introverted girl, so yeah.

I just need to learn how to ink and color properly. ;___;

17th November

This illustration is made from my imagination entirely with extreme carefulness, and took time to finish everything.

Though, they aren't really much detailed, which means I have to practice and sharpen my drawing skills more.

I thought up an idea of combining old furniture and modern technology. The example is like that chair without legs, it's actually anti-gravity chair. Then, that table has a touch screen.

They still look weird to me though.

What the girl is doing isn't drawing, but writing. One thing to tell, the writing isn't like what you think. It's something like making a really old English writing style.

You know, a very old english book has unique writing style ? That's what I mean.

The word says 'Salf' which I completely have no idea about as it's purely from my meaningless dream.

I have to practice more....

10th November

She looks like she is from medieval age. This design of clothes just kind of happened in my mind when I was daydreaming or sleeping deeply. Though I don't know what the meaning of this is, except that I feel like I've seen this clothes somewhere. I can't remember that much.... I'm sure there was a reference I took a glance at and memorized unconsciously to draw this.

On another note, the hairstyle really does remind me of Illya.

It's not like I only draw one picture after five days have passed. I've made lots of drawings on my table here, and I couldn't afford to scan all of them at once due to university's schedule. Not only that, most of them are incomplete and rough image still. Giving pencil outline will be given to them later whenever I get holiday or free time. I will post them here to show. I will.

5th November

My brain seems to be working well at night. Though I don't know why that is, but at least this drawing is finally done after lots of things happened in my real life.

I personally think to myself that I don't find any mistakes in this drawing, after having checked it so many times. Double checking is important, I think, since it can enhance your vision of things.

Just like a quote I read from a book.

"Train your eyes, like how a musician train his ears."

Well, this just be part of my Visual Diary and training. So giving some thoughts and critics on my own works shouldn't be a problem.

Self-criticizing, huh. But it's important.

I'm not ready yet, I still have to comprehend the theory of coloring and inking.

31th October

I didn't make an illustration about Hallowen despite I wanted to make it. The reason would be because of my lack of skill. I still feel I lack skills and I ought to sharpen my skills by doing trial and error approach. I'm now learning on how to ink and color properly. I think I should begin it first by doing it traditionally, then move onto doing it digitally.

Well, it's really not like you just ink like that. It still depends on what you want, so thus I said I'm learning 'how' to ink. As for color, perhaps monochrome or achromatic should do. Afterwards, I will move onto polychrome. Then coloring... uuh, my way is still very long.

Anyway, about this drawing I made, this is a remake of my old drawings. I was wondering which was better for her, bringing an umbrella or a flag. But since the old drawing was like this, and I originally wanted it this way so yeah.

I have to practice more.

28th October

A mascot or something, I'd like to say. I remade one of my old drawings which is about a girl bringing a flag of Indonesia, and this is the result after using all techniques I got from university (not really). I only used Juxtatopis though.

I still need a lot of practice on making body.....

26th October

I made this illustration carefully. I've always been doing things hurriedly, so I think I ought to do it slowly. I'm still drawing traditionally as I need time to get used to draw digitally. Though, I really need to find what kind of equipments I should use to make a much better quality out of this illustration....

I wish I can ink and color properly, then I'd be more than happy.

But, these girls already look like blonde girls so I think no colors is fine.

The girl on the right side reminds me of Illya from Fate Stay Night for some reasons.

I have to be better.

I'm still practicing on making faces, of course. You may say that I'm still looking for a style that suits my taste mostly. I want to develop myself to be better.

Wacom

I finally bought wacom, or tablet pen, and tested it for first time. This is the result. Though, it's small as it's my very first time to use wacom. I really have no idea what to do with the tablet pen. It seems my road is still very long to achieve :O

But I will never give up and keep improving my drawing skills. Ah, I also have to improve my coloring skills as well....

12th October

This is a pencil sketch, still rough though. But I'm trying to add value this time, and it looks a tad bit different from what I've been doing until now. So, I think I should remake my style and way of drawing once again.

I bought a new pencil mechanic, and it seems to be working well as there are no traces of pencil lines after having been erased. Maybe I'm going to love this pencil mechanic....

11th October

These still aren't what I want. The lines aren't what I want. I need something more like.... those used in anime wallpaper. The lines are so thin, rightly connected and neat. Not only that, they also are 'right' on the spot. I heard they were made with Wacom, so was it true ? No... even if they are true, I just need to hone my traditional skill first. Most of all that I have to learn is.... preposition of body and COLORING !!!!!

By preposition of body, I mean something like creating a body right on the 'spot' whenever I only drag the pencil once. You know, measuring. Something like that, maybe. Though... is that really necessary in this subject ?...... I will just keep drawing anyway.

Btw, the character from first image is original, and as for clothes, I borrowed it from anime Working!!. While the second image is original.

It has been long time not to post. Maybe you think I'm not drawing for a while, but I actually have been drawing for a while. It's just I don't have time enough to edit the pictures.

The lines in the paper say it all. Here, I'm learning on how to adjust angle, position and perspective.

The first, second, and fourth images are originally made, while the third and fifth image are based on reference. Furthermore, the first character in the third image is made by copying for practice, and these two characters are from Japanese games whose name I couldn't recall. And the fifth image is also made from reference with some improvisations, the character is Homura Akemi from Puella Magi.

Freedom

The first image is based on reference, and the latter is from my imagination entirely. Now I understand the meaning of 'freedom' in art, and now I really want to do something differently. Going out of my usual habit in drawing is what I mean. I won't be embarrassed anymore, and will always open myself for anything that inspires me. I slowly begin accepting everything.

Admiration

I always admire my favorite artist's style, Himura Kiseki, and this piece is one of the artist's collections. I find it is very amusing to find a lot of emotions and different faces in a paper. So I decided to challenge myself by copying it. Copying one by one with patience gives me this result. I'm happy.

Today

The first image was made based on reference, and the second image was made based on my imagination. I'm doing poses for improving my skills and so.

Kunoichi

Nothing else to mention, except to say I'm sharpening how to draw poses.

Annie and Sasha

Annie and Sasha, both of them are from Shingeki no Kyojin. There's no particular reasons to make poses like these actually. I'm just doing that for practice.

Midnight

It's this night already, and I still have to do some assignments. Some of them are easy to take care, and some of them are kind of hard to finish. In the midst of doing something, I drew this character, Nakamura Rei.

Right, I shouldn't be disappointed by how I draw anymore and will keep drawing to find the correct way to draw. Always and I will always draw.

Experiment

I'm experimenting with SAI, and this is the result. Don't mind what happened to me for so suddenly drawing this drunken girl. I still have a lot of things to master, especially masking, in the end. Water colors seems to be a correct way to color, but still isn't close to what I want. Maybe, color markers should do. I will give it a try next time. On another note, she seems to remind me of a character who is working as a trainer and teacher from Infinite Stratos (I forgot the name). That's if you don't mind the can.

Fanart

Makinami Mari Illustrious, from Neon Genesis Evangelion. I feel there's something behind her character that gives me an urge to draw her, with a different style which suits my taste most. She is energetic at first glance, and maybe that's the reason ? By the way, I like the twin tail hair she has.

It appears I've not given a much details into the eyes, but they will do enough for now, I think personally because I've got lots of assignments to do. :O

Today

What happened in University today was nothing. After going home, I immediately made this drawing based on the original one. Yes, I copied this for practicing. By the way, I find the hair is very cute and attracting my eyes.

Kujou Karen

I really like the jacket's design, and that's what makes Kujou Karen so cute. Aside Japan, I also love England/British. I dunno why, but perhaps because there's kingdom ? I like traditions, but still stick to modern technology. The mix of those two is like... something different, at another world.

21 September

I've tried everything I could use to draw, but all of them are kind of wrong to use. If that is really not the case, then there must be something wrong with my way. Just where could it have been ?

 If this is said to be good, it will make me happy enough. Though, they aren't still close enough to what I always want. What matters to me mostly is probably about preposition and proportion of body, face and eyes. If only I know how to do it like how Japanese does it, my skill will develop much surely.

But, for now, I guess I have to learn and practice little by little until I finally figure how to give 'life' and 'charming' into the eyes and face. It's unlikely to get a fruit out of a tree after watering it only once a day.

Moe and Shounen style has always been my favorite ever since then. What I need to do is just to be patient, not letting myself become crazy or somewhat.
